We began this module by having a good introduction to Software Engineering Project Management. We had to understand the need for a SEPM compared to traditional project management.
During this first unit, we also started a collaborative discussion about project failures study. We needed to share our thoughts regarding the most common reasons for a project to fail and give a perfect life-case scenario that supports our thoughts. I have chosen the Challenger Space Shuttle example that demonstrates that the lack of communication and structure (poor leadership) can lead to a disaster.
We have introduced all the requirements for the new assessment for the module. It will be a team project that will assess the entire process and management for a software engineering project. The final output of the software is not the real goal of this module, but more the journey towards it.
We also shared our e-portfolio link in an online discussion.
